Hi, I’m Karen (she/her) a doula supporting women and birthing people in Tacoma and the surrounding areas. I’m passionate about all things pregnancy, birth and beyond. I love supporting women and their partners and families on their pregnancy and childbirth journeys. I am a birth and postpartum doula and would love to work with you and yours to optimize your chances for an easeful birth experience and transition to new parenthood.

I am a DONA International trained birth and postpartum doula as well as being a certified Body Ready Method® pro. I have attended and supported more than 50 births and would love to be there and support you.

As of January 2025 Washington State Apple Health (Medicaid) includes a birth doula benefit covering

  • One prenatal intake

  • Continuous labor and delivery support

  • 20 hours for additional prenatal and postpartum visits, including one comprehensive postpartum visit

I now accept Apple Health (Medicaid) clients! If you have Apple Health and would like to work together, please reach out to set up a time to talk.

Get to know me!

I am the mother of three wonderful twenty-somethings children (pictured) who now live far and wide. I had the enormous pleasure and privilege of being a stay-at-home mother and many of the ways I support women now, professionally, I practiced as a friend and peer to my mom friends as we shared our pregnancy, birthing and parenting journeys. I feel so grateful for the experiences I had early in my pregnancy/parenting journey that make me want to share and support others in similar ways that I was supported. I now live on a small homestead farm with my husband Charlie in the lovely PNW with goats, chickens, dogs and a little orange barn tiger (cat) named Miro. We grow an abundant variety of fruits and vegetables and enjoy eating them and sharing with family, friends and neighbors.
